What We Do!
The Public Works Department consists of a superintendent, five full time employees, and a small crew of seasonal employees to:
* Maintain 32 miles of streets, including snow and ice removal, fill potholes, and street sweeping. (Airport Rd. and Smithville Rd. are maintained by Peoria County)
* Maintain all Village buildings and properties
* Repair and service Public Works vehicles and equipment
* Service Bartonville Police vehicles
* Repair and maintain the storm water drainage system
* Install, repair, remove American Flags and Seasonal banners
* Mow all common grounds, cemeteries, and parks
Snow and Ice Removal:
Priority 1 - Hills and Main Streets
Priority 2 - Residential Neighborhoods
Priority 3 - Alleys
A Parking Ban is put into effect when 3" or more of snow is FORCASTED. This enables crews to clear streets of snow and ice in a timely manner, while protecting residents' vehicles. Many of our streets are narrow, dead ends that are difficult to plow while maneuvering around parked vehicles.
Please obey the Snow Parking Ban to avoid receiving a ticket!
Monthly Pick-Up Service
Curbside pickup of unwanted household items (limit of 3) on the last Monday each month March thru November. Tree limbs or brush will be picked up if cut to 3 to 4 foot lengths and tied into bundles.

To be placed on the pickup list, contact Public Works by phone or email Bartonville Public Works no later than the day prior to the scheduled pick up. Provide your name, address, phone number and specific items. The items must be at the curb by 6 AM!
Exempted Items:
Remodeling waste, tires, Grass Clippings, Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, & General Trash
Bartonville Clean-up Days
This event is held one Saturday in the Spring and one Saturday in the Fall. Large Dumpsters will be located in the parking lot in front of the Public Works Building for residents to dump unwanted items.
Hazardous Waste is not accepted!

Garbage - The Village of Bartonville does not have contracted garbage service. Residents are responsible for obtaining their own.

Recycling locations - A Drop-Off Center is located in Bartonville Square behind Pizza Hut on Garfield Ave. Vist the Peoria County Website for a list of businesses which accept items for recycling such as automotive waste, appliances, electronics, and metal.
